SRINAGAR: Journalist Khalid Gul, who was earlier associated with English language daily Greater Kashmir, was arrested from his house in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday in connection with a 2017 case pertaining to his alleged anti-national write-up in the newspaper.
On November 19, police had searched Gul’s house in connection with the ongoing probe into a case related to online threats issued to journalists in Kashmir.
Police had raided several mediapersons in the case in which journalists working for two valley-based English language dailies, Greater Kashmir and Rising Kashmir, were threatened by terror groups through a Pakistan-based handle, KashmirFight. Anti-India elements in J&K and Pakistan consider the two dailies to be working under the influence of the state authorities.
