In a conversation with
Education Times,
Rekha Sethi, director-general, All India Management Association (AIMA), emphasises upon various abilities of future managers, including the ability to build and manage teams with different geographies and cultures as well as a strong focus on sustainability and environmental issues.

What are the changes you suggest for accurate testing of aspiring management students?

Over the last few years, there has been significant change in the tools and techniques being applied in the areas of testing and assessment. The increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has made testing tools and systems responsive and agile. It also allows for stronger checks and controls to detect and prevent any malpractices; in turn enabling the use of more robust and reliable testing methods.

AIMA has introduced remote proctored internet-based tests to give students the flexibility to take the test from anywhere, while administrators can still ensure a safe and secure testing environment. To maintain an accurate and fool proof system, AIMA monitors and updates its testing practices, tools and content, while also keeping in step with ongoing technological advancements and changing requirements of the industry/market.

The advent of new technologies like Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), demographic shifts and the current pandemic is radically transforming the way jobs are going to be performed in organisations and the type of skills management graduates will require to thrive in this new age of work. New age managers are expected to be ardent users of technology and also active participants in the design and development of new technological solutions.
